What I Offer

A good set of accounts starts first and foremost with good bookkeeping. That’s why at bookkeepingb it is the number one priority

I work with clients to help them understand the importance of recording every transaction and to show them the best and most efficient way to do this, ensuring that when it comes time for their accountant to prepare the year-end accounts all the information is at their fingertips and in an orderly manner – which your accountant will LOVE!

I work exclusively with clients who use, or who wish to use, Xero cloud accounting and Coconut (best for sole traders) due to their user friendly interfaces and ability to give information in real-time.

So, if you want your bookkeeping to:

bookkeepingb can help!

I understand that your business is different to every other in what it does and the way in which it operates, which is why I take the time to really get to know what you do, how you do it, what is important to you and what information you want to get from your accounts. So, whether your accounts are in a mess or you just want them to work better for you, bookkeepingb can assist by reviewing your existing bookkeeping processes and implementing time (and thereby cost) saving solutions. Once the processes are in place, the bookkeeping will be a breeze and you will have more time to do the things you love!

Other Services

As well as providing the above tailored service, I can also provide the following standard bookkeeping services:

The Importance of Good Bookkeeping

Bookkeeping is the first step in the accounting process and arguably the most important.

With proper bookkeeping companies are able to track all the information on its books to make key operating, investing and financial decisions. When you have real-time information about the state of your accounts you will be able to react quickly to any changes that happen to the market or to your business. You will be able to see your current bank account balance and your income and expenses, providing you with accurate insight.

Besides the fact that you are required under law to maintain accurate books and records, doing so will save you frustration later on. And, as bookkeeping tends to be less expensive than accounting, it’s helpful to know that having detailed and orderly records will shorten the length of time an accountant will spend on analysing your accounts and creating financial statements, saving you time and money.

Why Xero?

Xero is a cloud based system which means you can access it anywhere, anytime provided you can connect to the internet.

  • With Xero’s mobile app you can do your bookkeeping on the go, whether it be on the train or in a coffee shop. You can reconcile your bank account, post your expenses or send out a sales invoice to your customers.

  • Xero can pull through the bank transactions from your online banking on a daily basis which saves loads of time and eliminates the errors that can come from manual input.

  • With Xero you can send out online sales invoices to your customers. Not only is it faster but it also allows you to see whether they’ve opened it and gives them the option to pay you online through your invoice – which means you get paid quicker!

  • Go paperless by simply attaching your purchase invoices and receipts to your Xero entries. This is great for saving on all that filing space and makes finding your documents in the future quick and easy.

  • Your data is secure in the cloud. If your laptop is stolen or a fire destroys your office being in the cloud means your data is safe and there’s no downtime. Everything is run online so there’s nothing to install and everything is backed up automatically.

  • Multi-user access makes it easy to collaborate online with your team. You can invite in your bookkeeper or accountant so that they can access the same information, even at the same time as you, enabling you to look at the information together in real-time.

Xero and MTD: If you run a VAT registered business with a taxable turnover above the VAT registration threshold you are required to keep digital bookkeeping records and send returns to HMRC using Making Tax Digital compatible software, such as Xero. Businesses with taxable turnover below the VAT registration threshold can also sign up for MTD for VAT voluntarily.

About Me

Hi, I’m Elouise and I am your bookkeepingb

I started bookkeepingb because I realise that there are a lot of businesses and sole-traders out there who are brilliant at what they do but not so great at the record keeping and day-to-day bookkeeping. That is where I can help – organisation, processes and bookkeeping are my thing!

I am a full member of the Association of Accounting Technicians and have worked in finance for over 10 years. I have worked in a large global organisation, public schools and colleges and small accountancy practices.
